The project..
Seward Park - a parking lot, an urban renewal area, a development zone, cooperatives, public housing, a library, a school, a park, a place to call home. It is all these things and none of them. The buildings are visible, but the history of efforts to shape the neighborhood's future by local residents and committed reformers is slowly being erased as the neighborhood has undergone and continues to undergo gentrification and redevelopment. But the traces are still there – organizers, coop-ers, union leaders, settlement house workers - ordinary people taking extraordinary action to create a community and a place to call home.
Join us for an interactive tour of Seward Park. Discover an info-tag outside a historic site. Send a secret code to an unknown number and receive a message of the neighborhoods history. Then send in your own story to make the narrative of Seward Park complete.
Download a map of sticker locations and go explore!
